Education and sharing ideas are important aspects of the guild.  The guild maintains a library with the following items, there are various private studios which offer courses, a number of Community Centres and of course, renowned schools outside of the area.  Feel free to peruse and link to their sites.

Borrowing Library Material

Each Member is permitted to borrow the following items until the following Guild meeting:

  • Three books
  • Two VHS/DVD
  • Three old magazines
  • One new magazine

If you would like the Librarians to consider purchasing a book or DVD, let them know: library(at)ottawaguildofpotters(dot)ca.  If for some reason you can't make it to the meeting and return your borrowed items let the Librarians know (this is a one-time courtesy so you won't have to pay late fees) at library(at)ottawaguildofpotters(dot)ca.

Almonte Potters Guild

The Almonte Potters Guild offers a range of evening adult pottery lessons, as well as studio memberships ( Available 24/7).
Kids birthday parties and Corporate clay sessions also available. Various workshops are scheduled throughout the year.

Gladstone Clayworks Cooperative

Gladstone Clayworks Coop offers both group classes and private classes. The cost of private classes range from $30-$100 per class. The group classes cost about $25 for each class. Group classes last for 8 weeks making them about $200 total. The exact price may vary from teacher to teacher.

Hintonburg Pottery Shop


Owner Ginger McCoy is pleased to welcome you in her friendly studio/boutique. You will find handbuilding and/or wheel classes for adults; children; one-day workshops; and open studio hours for individuals with experience.

LOAM Clay Studio

LOAM Clay Studio is located in Ottawa's vibrant Hintonburg area - with a new location as of January 5, 2018. The studio offers pottery classes and workshops for all levels. LOAM also rents studio time to potters with some experience.

Classes in pottery are often available at the following locations. Check your local community centre, go visit the facilities, talk to the people involved to find the place that's right for you. The Guild does not offer courses, but has several member workshops during the year.
