A multidisciplinary artist, Anne has been working in clay since 2014.  Her broad artistic scope includes murals painting, food styling, graphic, conceptual and interior design as well as fine art watercolour and acrylic painting and ceramics. A professional calligraphist, she has provided script for such clients as the House of Commons, the Speaker of the Senate, Royal Society of Canada and Ottawa Art Gallery.

Anne brings this wealth of artistic knowledge to her own ceramic practice, as well as her teaching. She finds great pleasure in sharing knowledge and igniting the imaginations of students as they explore their unique artistic potential.

Anne is currently a studio potter and teacher at LOAM Clay Studio and an active member with the Ottawa Guild of Potters and its committees. Anne also is an integral part of her family’s business, Crossford Construction.

Being a ceramic artist, I derive immense joy from crafting distinctive, playful, and practical art pieces infused with intricate surface designs. My creative journey draws from a diverse background in design, calligraphy, and painting, enriching my work with a keen appreciation for color, texture, and form. This diverse skill set contributes a refined touch to the intricacy and finish of my creations.

I employ various techniques, including wheel throwing, handbuilding, and sculptural elements, to fashion my artwork. My repertoire also encompasses the use of underglaze paints, silk screen, china paints, lusters and decals, enabling me to produce truly unique pieces of art. The beauty of working with clay as my chosen medium lies in its endless potential for exploration. It allows me to continually delve into innovative and challenging decorative methods, providing a captivating canvas for expressing my innate creativity.
